BosKampKos sells camping food mixes online at boskampkos.co.za. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can do about it. We process personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

Who we are
BosKampKos is a small South African business based in Pretoria, Gauteng. You can reach us at [email protected] or on 082 652 1773. Our website is https://boskampkos.co.za.
What we collect
When you place an order: your name, email address, phone number, delivery address or chosen Pudo locker, the items you bought, and the amount you paid.
If you create an account: your username, email address, and the details above so that you do not have to retype them next time.
If you contact us: whatever you choose to send us, such as your name, email address, phone number and the content of your message.
Automatically: basic technical information such as your IP address and browser type, which our hosting and security providers log to keep the site running and to block abuse.
We never see your card or banking details. We currently accept payment by EFT only. You transfer the money from your own bank, using your own banking app or branch, and we only ever see that a payment reflected against your order number. We do not store card numbers because we never receive them.
Why we collect it
- To take, pack and deliver your order, and to confirm your payment.
- To send you order emails such as confirmation, payment received, and shipping notices.
- To answer your questions and handle returns or refunds.
- To keep the invoice and tax records that South African law requires us to keep.
- To keep the website secure and working.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not send marketing email unless you have asked us to.
Who we share it with
We share the minimum needed, and only with providers who help us run the shop:
- Our delivery partner receives your name, phone number and delivery address or locker choice so that your parcel can reach you.
- SendGrid (Twilio) sends our order emails, so it processes your email address and the content of those emails.
- Cloudflare sits in front of the website for DNS and security, and processes technical request data such as your IP address.
- Our hosting provider stores the website and its database on our behalf.
Some of these providers are based outside South Africa, which means your information may be processed abroad. We only use established providers that offer protection comparable to POPIA.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, for example to SARS or to a court.
Cookies
Our website uses functional cookies only. These remember what is in your cart, keep you logged in if you have an account, and let the checkout work. Without them the shop cannot function. You can block cookies in your browser settings, but the cart and checkout will stop working properly if you do.
At the time of writing we do not run analytics or advertising trackers on this site. If that changes we will update this policy before switching anything on.
Our Facebook page
We run a Facebook page where we post about our products. If you like, comment on, or message that page, Meta collects and processes that information under its own privacy policy, not this one. We can see public comments and the messages you send us, and we can delete comments on our own page. To control what Meta holds about you, use the privacy settings in your Facebook account.
How long we keep it
- Order and invoice records: five years from the end of the tax year, because the Tax Administration Act requires it.
- Account details: until you ask us to delete the account.
- Emails and messages: normally up to two years, unless they relate to an order or a dispute.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you,
- give you a copy of it,
- correct anything that is wrong or out of date,
- delete information we no longer have a legal reason to keep,
- stop using your information for marketing.

If you are not happy with how we handled your request, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
Security
The website runs over HTTPS, access to the store admin is limited to the people who run BosKampKos, and we keep the platform updated. No system is perfect, so if we ever discover a breach that puts your information at risk we will tell you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
Children
This shop is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be mentioned on the website.
